Ladders and Vines
Hitbox
Visually, ladders seem to be a flat texture 1 pixel away from the voxel's side.
In reality, ladders are 2 pixels wide (0.125b), making them the thinnest block in the game (along with panes).
Vines are intangible, but their properties are identical to ladders
In 1.9+, ladders are 1 pixel wider, making their new hitbox comparable to trapdoors (3px in width, or 0.1875b).
Properties
While inside the effect hitbox, Movement mechanics are affected in two ways:
- Colliding with any wall will make the Player climb at a constant rate of 0.1176 b/t
- Sneaking will prevent the Player from falling.
Ladders and vines also have a few effects on Movement:
- Horizontal speeds (X/Z) are capped at 0.15 b/t
- Vertical speed (Y) has a lower bound of -0.15 b/t
